The development of nuclear power is well accepted by the people in Pakistan, said MirChangez Khan Jamali, Pakistan's Minister of Science and Technology on Monday.
"We don't have any problem or any pressure from the people in Pakistan," the minister saidwhen talking about the public's reaction to building nuclear power plants in the country. Peoplewant energy from any source in Pakistan as the country has a problem with providing enoughenergy, said the minister.
According to Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Pakistan will also take safety measures and learn fromthe experiences of Japan in the process of nuclear energy development, as anti-nuclear moodshave intensified in some countries and many people consider nuclear power unsafe andunreliable after Japan’s nuclear crisis.
The minister also said that China and Pakistan are cooperating on many projects in the fieldsof science and technology and a new protocol containing education, agriculture and scienceand technology will be signed in the near future.
